The Iran women’s national volleyball team has claimed its first-ever gold medal after defeating hosts Uzbekistan 3–0 in the final of the Central Asian Championship in Tashkent.

Do-Hee, Iran dominated the tournament, winning all four matches without losing
a single set. In the final, they prevailed 25–14, 25–14, and 25–19. The
starting lineup featured Aytak Salamat, Shabnam Alikhani, Reyhaneh Karimi,
Negar Hashemi, Fatemeh Khalili, and Elaheh Poursaleh. This historic achievement
ends a 62-year desire for Iran’s women’s volleyball program and stands as a
milestone of perseverance and progress for women’s sports in the country.
