The Fun Run celebrating the upcoming Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games was held at the National Olympic Academy of Iran, with the participation of more than 400 schoolchildren alongside officials from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the National Olympic Committee of Iran, and the Embassy of Japan.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The event
welcomed the presence of H.E. Tamaki Tsukada, Ambassador of Japan to Iran,
along with members of the Japanese Embassy; Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, NOC Secretary
General; Executive Board Members Dr. Goudarzi, Dr. Alireza Pakdel, and Dr.
Alighardashi; as well as Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Media Director and official
representative of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The ceremony opened with welcoming
remarks by Dr. Alinejad. Ambassador Tsukada expressed his gratitude to the NOC
of Iran and highlighted the slogan of the Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games, “Imagine
One Asia.” He stated that Japan is ready to welcome the world with open arms
and encouraged participants to run with energy and joy. Mr. Jeans, OCA Media and
Broadcast Director, also addressed the audience, noting his delight to be
present and emphasizing that with one year remaining until the Asian Games,
preparations are already underway for this major continental event. Following a
series of recreational activities at different stations, more than 400 children
aged 5 to 12 gathered at the starting line for the community Fun Run. At the
conclusion, winners of the Fun Run, recreational contests, and children’s
drawing competition received OCA medals and Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games mascots,
presented by Dr. Alinejad, the Japanese Ambassador, and the OCA representative.
