Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Iran, held a meeting with Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, Director of Media and Broadcasting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), at the headquarters of the NOC in Tehran.

expressed his pleasure at hosting the OCA delegation in Iran and welcomed the
staging of the Fun Run event as part of the promotion for the Aichi–Nagoya
Asian Games. He emphasized that Iran, as a large country with a strong sporting
tradition, fully supports such initiatives to introduce both the nation and its
sports. He further underlined that Iran is fully coordinated with the Asian
Games Organizing Committee and the OCA in holding this recreational event.
Highlighting the unique
capacities of the country, the Secretary General noted that Iran is ready to
host major continental meetings and possesses the necessary facilities to
accommodate international guests, including the world’s largest wrestling
academy. Referring to two major upcoming events—the Asian Youth Games Bahrain
2025 and the Islamic Solidarity Games Riyadh 2025—Dr. Alinejad stated that
Iran’s national delegations at both youth and senior levels are well-prepared
to participate. He also underlined the strong ties with the OCA, stressing that
given the historic role and standing of Iranian sport, the country is
well-positioned to secure influential seats within the Asian sporting
community.
In response, Jeans Zhou Jian expressed
his satisfaction at visiting Tehran for the third time, praising the
preparations made by the NOC of Iran for the Fun Run event. He also commended
Iran’s achievements in various sports, noting that the country is among the
global powers in certain disciplines, and conveyed his best wishes for the
success of Iran’s athletes in the upcoming international competitions.
