Iran’s U17 men’s handball team defeated South Korea 28–25 in the final of the 1st Asian U17 Handball Championship in Jordan, ending a 19-year desire for continental glory.

secured the trophy with an unbeaten record of eight consecutive victories,
including wins over all top contenders. With this result, Iran also confirmed
its qualification for the 2025 World Championship in this age category. The
final saw Iran lead 13–11 at halftime before holding off South Korea’s comeback
attempts to seal a historic triumph. This marks the first Asian youth handball
title for Iran since 2005. In the third-place playoff, Qatar defeated Bahrain
33–26 to secure the bronze medal.
