The National Olympic Committee of Iran hosted a ceremony celebrating the birthdays of Olympic medalists born in September and October. Organized by the National Sports Olympic Paralympic Museum of Sport, Olympic and Paralympic, the event honored champions from different Olympic eras and was attended by the NOC President, Secretary General, commission members, veterans, families of medalists, and media representatives.
Iran NOC; Tehran: During the ceremony, the memories of late
champions Jafar Salmasi, Mahmoud Namjoo, Gholamreza Takhti, and Abdollah
Mojtabavi were commemorated. Olympic champions including Seyed Ali Akbar
Heidari, Sadegh Goudarzi, Javad Foroughi, Alireza Dabir, Hamid Sourian, Masoud
Mostafajo Kar, Ehsan Lashgari, and Sohrab Moradi were also recognized with
tribute videos and commemorative gifts presented by the NOC leadership.
In a special highlight, Sohrab Moradi (Olympic weightlifting
gold medalist at Rio 2016) and Javad Foroughi (Olympic shooting gold medalist
at Tokyo 2020) donated some of their valuable medals to the Museum. Moradi
contributed his 2017 IWF World Championships gold medal, while Foroughi donated
his Olympic Champion Honor Award from Tokyo 2020, gold medal from the 2025 Asian
Shooting Championships in Kazakhstan, gold medal from the 2022 ISSF World
Championships in Baku, and a silver medal from the 2022 ISSF World Cup.
