The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Iran announced that more than a month before the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, 75 percent of this year’s budget for national sports federations has already been paid.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Alinejad,
NOC Secretary General, referred to the Committee’s financial situation this
year and stated: “Although there was no budget increase this year, we tried to
manage resources so that the federations would receive their allocations on
time and face fewer problems in preparing for upcoming events. With the latest
payment transferred to the federations’ accounts, 75 percent of the annual
budget has been paid, which is a notable achievement within the first six
months of the year.”
Dr. Alinejad further added: “We
were able to make this payment thanks to the cooperation of the President of
the Planning and Budget Organization, the National Treasury, and their
colleagues. In the current circumstances, they gave special attention to sport
and helped us carry out our programs during a busy year filled with major
events.”
Referring to the federations
preparing for the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain and the Islamic Solidarity Games
in Riyadh, the Secretary General noted: “We have held numerous meetings with
federations and conducted detailed technical assessments. We have tried to
facilitate the conditions, ensure timely payments, and as a result, the
federations have no financial concerns regarding their participation in the two
events in Bahrain and Riyadh.”
