Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Iran, visited the national freestyle wrestling training camp at the Martyr Haj Qassem Soleimani Complex. During the visit, he met with Alireza Dabir, President of the Wrestling Federation, and observed the training sessions of the national team ahead of their departure for the World Championships.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Following the
practice, Dr. Alinejad praised the efforts of the wrestlers, coaches, and
staff, noting that wrestling has always been Iran’s number one sport and a top
priority for the NOC in both the Asian Games and the Olympic Games. He
expressed confidence in the team’s performance, stating: “I hope you return
from the World Championships with great results. Regardless of the outcome,
your hard work and dedication are valuable to us.” Alireza Dabir and Pejman
Dorostkar, head coach of the national freestyle team, presented reports on the
team’s preparation and outlined key challenges. Dr. Alinejad assured them that
the NOC will continue to provide strong support for wrestling, emphasizing its
central role in Iran’s sporting achievements.
