As part of preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the National Olympic Committee of Iran hosted separate technical meetings today with the Canoeing, Shooting, and Sailing federations to review their readiness for the upcoming event.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Mahdi Alinejad,
Secretary-General of the NOC, emphasized on the importance of precise planning
and coordination between the Committee and participating sports to ensure a
strong and effective presence at the Games. He described the meetings as a
platform to strengthen cooperation and align strategies. Dr. Asghar Rahimi,
Chef de Mission of the Iranian delegation, noted that with the registration
process for the Games already underway, such sessions clarify the
responsibilities of both the NOC and federations, paving the way for
well-structured team entries. Dr. Reza Shajie, Director of the National Teams
Monitoring Center, presented an overview of recent performances and medal
prospects, while officials and technical staff from each federation outlined
their current conditions and challenges. The discussions also addressed areas
requiring support from the Ministry of Sport and the NOC. Among the participants
were Alireza Sohrabian, President of the Canoeing Federation; representatives
from the women’s and technical committees; Morteza Ghorbani, President of the
Shooting Federation, alongside coaches and specialists in rifle, pistol, and
shotgun disciplines; Hamid Shomali, Secretary of the Sailing Association; and
members of the NOC including Mohammad Tabe, President of the National Olympic
Academy, and other senior officials.
