The Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports of Tajikistan, Zulfiqar Gul Ahmadzade, met with Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of Iran’s National Olympic Committee, and Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, during his visit to the National Sport, Olympic, Paralympic Museum.

welcomed the Tajik delegation, emphasizing the deep cultural and historical
ties between the two nations, saying: “Iran and Tajikistan are like one soul in
two bodies.” He expressed hope for broader cooperation in fields such as
Olympic academies, sports medicine, and federations. Dr. Alinejad highlighted
opportunities for joint training camps, exchange of coaches, and participation
in tournaments, noting that both countries can benefit from each other’s
expertise in sports such as judo, boxing, taekwondo, wrestling, and
weightlifting.
Ahmadzada thanked the Iranian
hosts, conveyed greetings from Tajikistan’s NOC President, and stressed that
Tajikistan seeks to benefit from Iran’s Olympic and sports experience to help
develop its own sports sector. He underlined that sports serve as a bridge of
peace and friendship between the two nations. At the end of the meeting,
Khosravi Vafa presented Ahmadzada with a collection of artworks, after which
the Tajik delegation visited the National Olympic Academy.
