The Iranian Women’s Youth Handball Team achieved a historic milestone with a high-scoring victory over Kyrgyzstan, setting a record in all previous appearances of Iran’s national handball teams at Asian and international competitions.

Women’s Youth Handball Team played their last preliminary round match of the
18th Asian Women’s Youth Handball Championship against Kyrgyzstan on 25 August.
The match concluded with a resounding 77–12 victory for Iran, marking a
record-breaking 65-goal margin—the largest in the history of Iranian
handball—and highlighting the remarkable capabilities of Iranian Muslim women
athletes on the sports stage. This decisive win allowed Iran’s youth women’s
handball team to set an unprecedented record in the 50-year history of the
Iranian Handball Federation, ensuring their achievement is permanently recorded
in the annals of Iranian handball. With this victory, the team earned a total
of 4 points in the 18th Asian Women’s Youth Handball Championship, following
earlier wins against Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The tournament continues in
Uzbekistan until 28 August.
