Special Meetings Held with Aquatics, Athletics, Cycling, Gymnastics Federations and the Esports Association.
Iran NOC; Tehran: As part of the
ongoing coordination meetings with federations and associations nominated for
participation in the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the National Olympic
Committee of Iran held specialized sessions this morning with the federations
of Aquatics, Athletics, Cycling, Gymnastics, as well as the Esports Association. The meetings
were attended by Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the NOC of Iran; Dr.
Asghar Rahimi, Chef de Mission of Team Iran for Aichi–Nagoya 2026; Ms. Atefeh
Eslamian, Director of International Relations; Dr. Reza Shaji, Director of the
National Teams Monitoring Center; Mahmoud Abdollahi, Director of Public
Relations; and Mohammadreza Abedi Mahzoon, Representative of the Ministry of Sport and Youth. Key issues
related to the participation of these disciplines in the Games were thoroughly
discussed. In his opening remarks, Dr. Alinejad emphasized the importance of
structured planning for a successful presence at the Asian Games,
considering these sessions an
essential step towards greater coordination and preparedness. Dr. Rahimi also
highlighted the necessity of holding such meetings, especially for federations
with a large number of events, in light of the official registration process
recently launched by the Organizing Committee of the Games. During the
sessions, representatives of the Monitoring Center and International Relations
Department provided details on the official guidelines received from the
Organizing Committee, including the number of medals and events, competition
schedules, regulations, and handbooks. Additional
discussions were held on national team selection criteria, training camps, and
international tournaments for performance evaluation. Mr. Abedi Mahzoon,
representing the Ministry of Sport and Youth, reaffirmed the Ministry’s full
support for the delegations while also sharing
the Ministry’s priorities and concerns.
The meetings also featured the participation of the following
federation and association leaders:

- Ehsan Haddadi (President, Athletics Federation) with Parisa Behzadi
and Hashem Siyami
- Hashem Asadi (President, Cycling Federation) with Ehsan Soleymanian
- Loghman Shavarani (President, Esports Association) with Shakouri, Azoush,
Farzan Homayoun, Arash Rouhi, and Ms. Ahmadi
- Zahra Eincheh Dargahi
(President, Gymnastics Federation) with Mr. Soleimani
Each delegation held separate
meetings with NOC officials to discuss their respective technical and
operational preparations for Aichi–Nagoya 2026.
