The first session of the new term of the Women and Sport Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Iran was held, chaired by NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The meeting was attended by new commission members, the
NOC Vice President, and the Deputy Minister for Women’s Sports Development. The
session began with an overview of the commission’s goals and a brief report on
past activities. Commission members including sports federation officials,
academics, government representatives, and media experts shared their views on
the future direction of women’s sports. Dr. Mohammadian Deputy Minister for
Women’s Sports Development emphasized on the need for creative approaches in
four key areas: elite women’s sports, grassroots participation, sport-based
entrepreneurship, and empowering Muslim women in sports rights. The NOC
President also stressed the importance of education and leadership in sports
and officially appointed the commission members. It was also announced that
rising athletics star Reyhaneh Mobini be honored as a special guest at the next
NOC Executive Board meeting.
