In a historic achievement for Iranian Athletics, Reyhaneh Mobini claimed the gold medal in the women’s long jump at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships, becoming the first Iranian woman ever to win a gold in the event.

delivered a dominant performance on Day 3 of the Championships held in in South
Korea, jumping 6.40 meters to secure the top podium spot. Mobini’s series of
jumps included impressive marks of 6.34m, 6.40m, a foul, 6.13m, and 6.33m,
firmly establishing her as the continental champion and earning Iran its
first-ever gold medal in women’s athletics. India’s Sujan Adapilli won the
silver by a 6.33m jump, while her compatriot Shaili Singh took bronze with
6.30m.
