Iranian-Qatari NOC Talks Highlight Bilateral Cooperation
During the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, which was hosted by Kuwait and attended by more than 500 guests, the President and Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee met and discussed with Sheikh Joaan bin Hamed bin Khalifa bin Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee.

Iran NOC; Tehran: At the beginning of this meeting, Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, referring to the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, highlighted the expansion of bilateral interactions and cooperation in the field of championship sports. The NOC President noted: "This capacity can certainly be systematically used in various areas and in the form of a sports memorandum of understanding for the benefit of athletes from both countries."

The President of the Qatar Olympic Committee also stated: "With the support of deep and strong political, social and cultural relations between the two countries, undoubtedly strengthening sports cooperation between them can help further strengthen friendship and brotherhood among the young generation and strengthen sports in the two countries."

At the end of the meeting, which was also attended by Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, the NOC Secretary-General, and his Qatari counterpart, Jassim Rashid Al-Buenain, it was decided that the Secretaries General of the two committees would hold talks to finalize the text of the memorandum of understanding, taking into account existing and potential opportunities. Finally, Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa officially invited Sheikh Al-Joaan, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, to travel to Tehran to sign the memorandum of understanding.
