The National Olympic Committee identified and introduced the list of elite athletes from federations to obtain scholarship quotas for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Iran NOC; Tehran: During a
meeting held at the National Olympic Committee, attended by Amirreza Balzadeh,
Director of the Olympic Solidarity, Reza Shaji, Director of the National Teams
Monitoring Center, and the president and secretaries or representatives of the
relevant federations, the athletes nominated by the federations to obtain
scholarship quotas for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games were identified.
After receiving the call for the
Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games Athlete Scholarship Program from the
International Olympic Committee (IOC), in order to increase the athletes'
preparation on the path to obtaining a quota, the Olympic Solidarity of the
National Olympic Committee, over the past few months, under the supervision of
Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, and in
cooperation with the National Teams Monitoring Center, sent letters to the
officials of the sports federations that have a chance of obtaining a quota,
and in accordance with the technical and expert basics, 12 athletes were
identified as eligible for introduction to the IOC. The new sports scholarships
will be funded by the International Olympic Committee from 2025 to 2028. The
National Olympic Committee has selected 6 female and 6 male athletes to be
nominated to the IOC in this period, respecting gender equality.
