A specialized meeting between NOC and the Ministry of Sports officials with the federations that are candidates for participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh (Basketball and Athletics) was held at the National Olympic Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Dr. Alinejad,
Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, first provided
explanations about the Islamic Solidarity Games and the results achieved in
previous editions of this event by our country's sports delegations. Pointing
out that the Islamic Solidarity Games are the most important event ahead and
that success in these games is important for the National Olympic Committee, he
stated: "The medal-winning capacity of the disciplines will definitely be
the priority in decision-making, and based on the decision of the Ministry of
Sports and the National Olympic Committee, a qualified delegation will be sent
to this edition of the Games, and disciplines that have the capacity to succeed
and win medals will be sent."
The Secretary General of the
National Olympic Committee continued by emphasizing that the federations are
expected to have a coherent, correct and timely plan for these games with a
view to winning medals, saying: "The evaluation of the National Teams Monitoring
Center and the Ministry of Sports, as well as the review of the results
achieved in domestic and foreign events, will be the criteria before sending
them."
