The Iranian National Freestyle Wrestling team managed to bag the Championship title of Asian Wrestling Championship by winning 5 gold and 3 bronze medals.
Iran NOC; Tehran: For the Iranian
team, Rahman Amoozad in 65 kg, Amir Mohammad Yazdani in 70 kg, Mohammad Nokhodi
in 79 kg, Amir Hossein Firozpour in 92 kg, Amir Hossein Zare in 125 kg won the
gold medal, Hossein Abuzari in 74 kg, Hadi Vafaeipour in 86 kg and Mohammad
Hossein Mohammadian in 97 kg won bronze medals. In the team rankings, Iran won
the championship with 190 points, while Japan stood second with 130 and
Kyrgyzstan third with 121 points, respectively.
