At the invitation on behalf of Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad and Hossein, Qatar NOC President and Hussain Al-Mussalam, the President of the World Aquatics for participating in the opening ceremony; Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the NOC President, met and talked with his Qatari counterpart.

meeting, the NOC President, while thanking his Qatari counterpart for the
invitation, congratulated Sheikh Joaan on the successful hosting the two
important football events of the Asian Nations Cup and the World Aquatics
Championship. The NOC President, while emphasizing on increasing the sports
relations between the two countries and benefiting from the facilities and
potentials of both sides in sports, invited Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa
Al Thani to visit Iran in the near future. Next, the presidents of the National
Olympic Committees of Iran and Qatar, highlighting the sports capacities of the
two countries in various disciplines, discussed regarding the increase of
sports interactions and cooperation in various disciplines, as well as the
support they can have for each other's sports in the international arena.
