The expert session with the topic “protection of athletes” was held at National Olympic Academy.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of this meeting, Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, Secretary General of the
National Olympic Committee welcomed the attendees and held: “The reason for my
presence in this meeting is to announce that we in the National Olympic
Committee proudly support such meetings.
He further said: “The main
purpose of the 17 commissions of the National Olympic Committee is to provide
advice. But these commissions are allowed, according to the agreement we had
with the president and members of the executive board of the National Olympic
Committee, to convey some important issues to the audience in the form of
official programs, in this regard, the Women and Sports Commission, considering
the importance of the Athletes Protection which is emphasized by the IOC,
organized today's program”. While giving explanations about women's sports and
the protection of athletes, he went on: “We are looking to convey the message
of this meeting to the sports community, especially federations and athletes.
We must summarize the output and message in the form of a statement in a few
paragraphs, and in order to reach all athletes in all categories, expand the
work output at the level of 31 provinces and make it available to all athletes”.
The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee continued: "If
there are considerations regarding the protection of athletes that we cannot
address publicly, these considerations should be discussed in training classes,
which will greatly help the country's sports."
