Iran's National Badminton team won six gold, four silver and two bronze medals and ended its representation in the Central Asian competitions with championship title.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The Central
Asian Badminton Championships started in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan,
and the Iranian national teams went to these competitions as the defending
champions. The teams of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
and Tajikistan participated in this tournament. On the sidelines of these
competitions, the Asian Badminton Summit was held in Tajikistan with the
presence of Mohammad Reza Pouria, the Vice President of Asian Badminton and the
President of the Badminton Federation, and it was decided that the next Asian
Summit be held in Tehran at the same time as the Fajr International Badminton
Tournament.
