During the World Shooting Championship being held in Egypt, the Iranian Men’s and Women’s teams succeeded in securing valuable medals.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the end of
the women's 10m team air pistol final, the Iranian team with the combination of
Hanieh Rostamian, Golnoush Sebghatolahi and Mina Ghorbani won against Mongolia
with by of 16-14 and bagged the bronze medal. At the end of the men's 10m team
air pistol final, the Iranian team consisting of Javad Foroughi, Mohammad
Rasool Efati and Sajjad Pourhosseini lost against China by 16-10 and won the
silver medal. At the end of the preliminary round, the Iranian team was among
the top 8 teams with 826 points, and in the second round and the final 20
shots, they scored 583 points and went to the finals. At the end of the girls'
50m rifle final, Armina Sadeghian, the young Iranian shooter, managed to win
the bronze medal by placing third in the world. In the mixed pistol event, the
team combined of Javad Foroughi and Hanieh Rostamian competed against the
representatives of Lithuania where the Iranian team overcame their opponent by
16-14 and won the bronze medal of this competition.
