The first coordination meeting of the Olympic Solidarity for Women's Rowing Coaching Development Project was held by the Olympic Solidarity of the National Olympic Committee with the presence of the representatives of the Women's Rowing Federation Mrs. Ketayoun Ashraf, the Vice President of the Federation and Solmaz Abbasi Azad, the coach of the women's national rowing team.
Iran NOC; Tehran: This project,
which started in May 2022 and will continue until December next year,
emphasizes on the empowerment of female coaches and recruiting elite athletes,
and is planned in three executive sections: talent identification, coach
training, and regional rowing competitions.
The mentioned project was sent to
the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Solidarity Department on the
proposal of the President of the Rowing Federation Mr. Alireza Sohrabian, and
with the approval of the President of the National Olympic Committee, Dr.
Seyedreza Salehi Amiri, and succeeded in receiving support on behalf of the
IOC. It is planned that the first phase
of this project, which started in May, with the presence of 9 trainers from 8
provinces of the country and a number of trainers and athletes who are refugees
living in Iran, will be held in as a training camp in late August for duration
of 6 days at the same time as The Asian Rowing Cup will continue in Tehran.
It should be highlighted that
Mrs. Solmaz Abbasi Azad, holder of the WSLA Women's Sports Leadership Academy
from the University of England, is in charge of directing the project, along
with the Vice President of the Federation, Mrs. Katayoun Ashraf.
