The unveiling ceremony of the achievements of the Oral History of Iranian Sports was held in the presence of Dr. Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic
Committee, stated: “Hopefully we succeeded in hosting honorable people in this
sacred space who have a great right in Iran. We thank God that for the first
time in the history of Iranian Sports we unveil a new item that proves that
Iranian sport has a history and antiquity”.
"We apologize to the
veterans who lived in Iranian sports and brought pride to the Iranians, to the
veterans, whether they are in this ceremony or those who are not present and
even left us, because we were negligent since this move should have started a
century ago and reached its destination today, but with all these concerns, we
are happy that today is the beginning of this great work” added the President.
NOC President Highlighted: “The
movement that started is planned and strategic, and all the efforts of the
National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and federations were all aimed at
answering the question of what the history of Iranian sports and what the
origin of Iranian sports are”. The National Olympic Committee President
continued: "If these great people created pride and zeal today, how should
they be known? This museum belongs to the Iranian nation. In continuation of
this goal, we have launched a sports database and from now on, anyone who wants
in the geography will have access to the document and photo of Iranian sports. The
third move today is the unveiling of the oral history of Iranian sports.
Iranian culture is not written at all and is preserved in the hearts of the
elders. If a pioneer leaves us, he carries with him a sea of information,
their memory is a sea of information that must be preserved. All managers,
sports officials, even some of these valuable individuals who are not present
in this group, helped and accompanied us in this way from the past to the
present, and we appreciate all of them. This work is based on a scientific methodology
that was set for a year. The meaning of oral history is to turn a collection of
people's treasures into photos and videos to connect us to the future and learn
from the past”.
Dr. Salehi Amiri added: The
definition of oral history is the explanation of historical facts in a period
of time. In oral history, as a mission and a national duty, we want to take
responsibility for the reflection of facts to future generations in order to
save them from confusion. Today's work will last for the next few centuries
because it is based on methodology, and in the near future, we will put many
libraries and films in this treasure, whose name is actually the treasure of
Iran's oral history. The society should be acquainted with its own capital and
we have coordinated with the Radio and Television to show them; we should
introduce our own myths and make films. Also, directors and filmmakers should use
our own sports myths”.

unveiling the achievements of Iran's oral history of sports projects, members
