Iran's Meli Co. crowned as Asian Inter-Club champion
The Asian Inter-Club Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan was ended with Iran's Meli Co team being crowned as the champion, as all its weightlifters selected medals.



Despite the fact that the Asian Inter-Club competitions have been held for a decade, very few Asian champions were interested to take part in the competitions. Meanwhile, Iranian weightlifter Sohrab Moradi who won three gold medals in 85kg category, became the champion with an overall of 385kg, which was three kilograms more than what was recorded in Paris 2011 Worlds.

Moradi, who was not the member of Iran's national team in Paris 2011 Championships, snatched 177kg in Tashkent championships. He then wanted to set new world record in clean and jerk by elevating 219kg but finished the championships with 208kg in clean and jerk.
Iranian team could select 24 medals. The list of the athletes and their selected medals is as following:
69kg category: Jaber Behrouzi (3 gold medals)
77kg category: Rasoul Taghian (1 gold, 1silver and 1 bronze medals)
85kg category: Sohrab Moradi (3 gold medals)
94kg category: Asghar Ebrahimi (2 gold and 1 silver medals)
105kg category: Navab Nasir Shalal (3 gold medals) and Mohammad Reza Barari (3 silver medals)
+105kg category:  Bahador Molaie (2 gold and 1 silver medals) and Reza Ashourizadeh ( 1 gold and 2 silver medals)
