Iran's women footballers shine in Asian championships
Iran's national women football team has defeated Syria in the last match of the preliminary round of the West Asian Women's Football Championship, which is now being held in the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian football players, which have formerly defeated UAE 4-1 in its second game, beat Syria 4-1 at Sultan bin Zayed Stadium of Abu Dhabi.

Zomorod Soleimani, Nasimeh Gholami scored four goals for Iran, proving Iranian team as capable of claiming the gold medal of the championship which opened on October 3 and will continue to October 12.

Iran is to play against Jordan on Monday in the semifinal match of the 4th West Asian Women's Football Championship.
 
Eight teams are vying for the top place of the championships hosted by the UAE.
