Iranian volleyball players overcame China’s team 3 to 1 and crowned as the games' champion before 16-thousand people at Tehran's Azadi Indoor Stadium.
The victory secures Iran's presence at London Olympics 2012, and also ensures a berth for Iran in the FIVB Men's World Championships 2011 in Japan.
Iranian volleyball players trounced Afghanistan, Chinese Taipei, India, Pakistan, Japan, Sri Lanka and Korea and then cruise to the final competition with China.
After losing the first set 25-22 to the Chinese volleyball players, the Iranians denied their opponents any more joy as they rallied to a full recovery with 25-18, 25-19, and 25-16 wins in the next three sets.
16 Asian teams participated in the tournament, which opened on September 21, and ran until 29.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution, felicitated Iranian team, and praised the volleyball players over the great joy they brought to the country by their remarkable performance in the sports event.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also congratulated the Iranian athletes in a separate message for their great victory in Asia, believing the success is indicative of the self confidence of the Iranian youths.
Ali Larijani, Iran's Parliament Speaker, also expressed his congratulation over the great triumph achieved by Iranian athletes in the final of Asian championship in Tehran.
