Singapore Narrowly Lose in a Tightly-fought Opener Against Islamic Republic of Iran

 Singapore lost 2-1 in a tightly-fought match against Islamic Republic of Iran in their AYG opener  at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Despite a valiant effort, a goal by Iran in the 70th minute gave them the lead and the match against the host country

The People's Republic of China on the other hand had an easy win over Thailand by scoring seven goals in the final match of the night

 the Philippines football team drew 2-2 with the Singapore Select team in the specially organised AYG Friendship Cup and fans were treated to the skills and talent of both sides as they went all out to give fans a great show
