More than 6,000 female and male runners from across the country have participated in the event, which was held in Azadi and Enghelab sport complexes.
Iran’s National Olympic Committee celebrated Olympic Day in Tehran coordinated with other countries around the world.
Female section of the program was held on June 24 attended by over 3,000 female runners aged 3 to 75.
Bahram Afshardzadeh, secretary general of Iran’s National Olympic Committee hosted the sport event.
On June 25, more than 3,000 male runners celebrated the Olympic Day.
Aliabadi, head of Iran’s National Olympic Committee opened the male section of the sport event.
A total of 30 bicycles were awarded to winners at the closing ceremony. A lottery program was launched and 100 people won various prizes including cell phones.
Iran held the Olympic Day under the title of Olympic Week to let more people attend the program. Children’s Painting contest under the themes of sports, environment, respect, friendship, Olympics, and heroes were held to raise children’s awareness on the issue.
Futsal Media Cup was also held to observe the Olympic Week in Iran. Some of 18 teams from various newspapers, news agencies, radio and television attended the contest.
