We received with great sadness the news of the demise of the former IOC President Mr. Juan Antonio Samaranch.

During his entire term of office at the IOC, President Samaranch so much contributed to the development and promotion of the Olympic Movement with many new areas of activities taking place as a result of his efforts.

We would like to express our deep condolences, in this sad moment, to his family, yourself and the entire Olympic family.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
