Engaging International Community in Singapore

In a bid to reach out to the international community, the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (SYOGOC) kick started a series of dialogues with the foreign missions and representative offices based in Singapore
More than 60 missions and representative offices representing countries from the Olympic Council of Asia, European Olympic Committees, African National Olympic Committee (NOC) Association, Pan-American Sports Organization and Oceania NOC attended the three dialogue sessions at the SYOGOC HQ from 11-13 May 2009
During the sessions, the foreign representatives learnt more about the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and were updated on the progress on the Games’ preparation
SYOGOC also took the opportunity to invite the missions and representative offices to be a part of Singapore 2010 – from organising events to celebrating the Games, as well as share and spread the word about Singapore 2010 with their own communities and their countries’ media
With this and other dialogues to come, more international communities in Singapore and abroad will be able to find out how they, too, can participate and celebrate next year’s inaugural Youth Olympic Games and contribute to its success
