ISSF executive Committee confirmed:2nd Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Iran
Iran's bid to host the 2nd Islamic Solidarity Games from 9 to 25 April, 2010 was confirmed in the ISSF General Assembly meeting held in Riadh.

Bahram Afsharzadeh, secretary general of NOC, Hussein Mirza Aghabeik, Nasrolah Jafarian, Muhammad Sharifi and Maryam Moghdas, represented Iran in the meeting and put Iran’s bid on the table regarding the postponing the games to April 9.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) Secretary General Dr Mohhamad saleh Ghozdar, welcomed the Iranian delegation to the meeting and observed the plans presented by the delegation in the form of a CD.
 
He said the measures taken by Iran as the host of the games are as it was expected from Iran. “We have never expected anything from Iran but ideal management of the games,” he said.

Later in the session, Afsharzadeh offered Iran’s bid as to postpone the games to April 9. He said the proposal is made to safeguard the athletes against health problems.

As it was approved in the meeting, the games are due on April 9, 2010 in three major cities of Iran: Tehran, Isfahan and Mashad.

Issues like sponsorship of the games and broadcasting the events were discussed in the meeting by head of the Iranian delegation in the meeting Afsharzadeh and it was decided that representatives of ISSF pay a visit to Iran next month to discuss these issues with IRIB agents.
