ran's Olympic Soccer Team Officials meet SG of NOC
The meeting, attended by the team's federation officials, coaches and secretary general of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), the preparation plans for Iran's Olympic football team for entering Olympic Games were stressed.

 

 

In the meeting, Bahram Afsharzadeh, secretary general of NOC, Mehdi Taj, Vice President of Iranian soccer federation, Peirovani brothers and members of the teams' technical board, Eftekhari, NOC advisor, and Parviz Kasmaei, veteran team member, were present.

In his opening speech, Afsharzadeh stressed the significance of arranging targeted preparation plans for the team and noted that as Iran's national soccer team failed to male it to the World Cup, expectations have raised for the Olympic team to gain some success.

"People are right to expect so from their team, and this is up to you and me to provide the means for it to happen," he added addressing the officials in the meeting.

Later in his speech, Afsharzadeh reaffirmed his previous promises about full support for the preparation plans by NOC and asked the federation officials and members of the technical board of the team to avail experts' expertise and veterans' experience to frame an infallible preparation scheme for the team.

As Afsharzadeh posited, members of the Olympic soccer team have the necessary potentials for making it to the Olympic Games and what needs to be addressed mostly by the plans is mental and psychological grounding for them. "Besides physical exercises, they need to have faith in their success and remain assured they are up to play the Games."

He closed his speech by praising the close contact between different football teams and the Olympic team in Iran.

Later in the session, Peirovani, team's coach, delivered a speech expounding on his plans for the team to enter Olympic Games.

He stated that the success of the team is his first priority and that he and his colleagues would do their best to materialize this priority.

Up next was Mehdi Taj who expressed hope that the present coherence between NOC and the federation would lead to the success of the team ensuring stronger basis for the national team in the future. He promised that the federation would do whatever it can to help the Olympic team with its plans.

Finally, it was decides that in a separate session, Peirovani brothers discuss their plans with head of the NOC and Afsharzadeh.
