“We consider the championship in Vietnam as a preparatory competition for the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou,” Bahram Afsharzadeh Secretary-General of Iran’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) said.

In response to whether it was possible that Iran would withdraw from the competitions because of swine flu scare, he said, “No, we will definitely participate in the event.”
