The NOC Strategic Council meeting was held in the presence of NOC President and Secretary-General.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of the meeting, Mr. Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the NOC President,
welcomed the Commissions’ Chairs and emphasized on the face-to-face discussion
and the sharing of materials and experiences in order to use the capacity of
the commissions and also to be aware of their activities. NOC President
considered the chairs and members of the commissions to be famous and
influential people for the National Olympic Committee, whose presence,
according to the consultative role of the commissions based on Article 24 of
the National Olympic Committee's statutes, is important in setting the track
and the roadmap of the National Olympic Committee to be effective and the
changes in the committee based on providing consultations while highlighting
the positive role of the commissions in the major decisions of the National
Olympic Committee.
Further, Dr. Farhadizad, the NOC
VP and coordinator of the commissions, also pointed out that it is appropriate
for the commissions to be aware of the capacities of the National Olympic
Committee so that they can use these them in the progress of the work, and
further drew the attention of the commissions to the facilities of National Olympic
Museum and solidarity with the IOC and how the commissions interact with the
committee offices. After that, each Commission Chair presented a report on their
past activities and proposed plans for the new year, and emphasized on the mutual
interaction and cooperation.
In the following, Dr. Hashemi,
the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, also mentioned the
great tasks that have been completed in the National Olympic Committee and
pointed out the role of the commissions in facilitating the activities of the
National Olympic Committee.
NOC President, Secretary-General,
Vice-Presidents and Chairs of Cultural, Environment, Education, Sports
Medicine, Legal, Athletes, Ethics, Peace & Sports and International
Relation Commissions represented themselves in the meeting.
