During the Asian Championship, the Iranian Rowing, Canoe and Kayak National members managed to book 4 Olympic quotas.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Nabi Rezaei bagged
the men's 1000m Canoe first place and by winning the gold medal qualified for
the Paris Olympics. Mehsa Javar and Zainab Norouzi finished second in the
women's lightweight double Rowing final and won the silver medal to qualify for
the Paris Olympics for the first time in the history of the sport. Ali
Aghamirzaei finished third in the men's 1000m Kayak final and by winning the
bronze medal of the Asian Championship was qualified for Paris 2024. In the
women's single Rowing, Fateme Mojalal competed with opponents from Vietnam, the
Philippines, Japan, Uzbekistan and Singapore and crossed the line as the third
boat by 7:37.07 minutes and won the bronze medal to finalize the Paris 2024
ticket. This is the first time that the Iranian national delegation represents Canoeing,
Kayaking and Rowing in the Olympic Games by 5 male and female athletes.
