In cooperation with the Environment and Sports Commission of the National Olympic Committee and the Municipality of Tehran Region 22, a ceremony to honor the Natural Resources Week and Planting Day was held in Khargoshdarreh Park.

Hashemi, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee stated: “In line
with the motto of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and OCA (Olympic
Council of Asia), we intend to encourage our athletes to plant trees by
implementing this symbolic program. Both in our religion and in the internal
laws of our country, the importance of the environment has been discussed to the
extent that many laws have been written in the above documents and recommended
to preserve the environment, water conservation, soil conservation and tree
planting. We gathered under the pretext of celebrating the week of tree
planting and natural resources, so that the sports community aligned with the
people of Iran and those who are interested in nature and environment, to
impress and to preserve our life and keep our nature in line with sustainable
development for future generations”.
