Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the NOC Secretary-General participated in the anniversary of the late Takhti's along with other officials and sports officials of the country.
Iran NOC; Tehran: To this end, in
the early hours of 7th January, Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, Secretary
General and Spokesman of the National Olympic Committee, represented by late
Takhti’s tomb and honored the memory of this popular champion along with a
group of sports and wrestling veterans.
The NOC Secretary-General hedl: “Takhti
belongs not only to the sports community but also to the great nation of Iran,
and in addition to the field of sports, he has served as a champion in other
fields with a heroic character that has never been and will never be forgotten.
Apart from winning medals and honor, what will remain in people's minds for
years is the champion’s heroic and people-oriented character, and Takhti is a
good example of a behavior model that has always been considered by the
athletes of our country”.
