Further to the Olympic Truce approved by the UN and the Olympic Summit Communique; the online consultative meeting held for IOC members, NOCs’ officials and sports bodies, Thomas Bach, President of International Olympic Committee emphasized on the unifying role of sports.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The meeting was
participated by Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the NOC Secretary-General, Seyed Farid
Fattahian, the International Relations Director moderated by Mohammad Mehdi
Saeidi, International Relations expert and interpreter. Reviewing the upcoming
Olympic Games in Paris, Winter Games in Milano-Cortina, Peace Mission of Sport,
anti-doping and politicization in sports were the subjects debated by the IOC
President and meeting participants. Also, Thomas Bach pointed out the independence
and importance of athletes within the Olympic Movement.
