During the ceremony for celebrating medalists of the Chengdu Universiade, Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, the NOC Secretary-General, highlighted that the NOC stands by the university students and supports them as much possible.

Hashemi, the NOC Secretary General, stated: “we stand by the university
students and support them as much possible. Nowadays, countries gain
achievements in the field of employment and tourism by holding such events.
Holding events such as the Universiade, Asian and Para-Asian Games indicates
that the governments care about hosting them.
“In these competitions, honors
were won for the country in the field of championship, and in the field of
health which will include the reduction of disease and medicine. Hosting such
events, China and other countries benefit from them” added the Secretary-General.
Hashemi continued: “Definitely, these games are a prelude to the Paris Olympics
as our talents will emerge from this event”.
