Faranak Partoazar, the Iranian Female Cyclist managed to stand third and bag the bronze medal.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In the
continuation of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the mountain bike race started in the
early hours of the morning. Iranian cyclist Faranak Partoazar participated in
this competition where she had a tough and close competition with 7 other
cyclists. In this difficult and attractive race, Chinese cyclists were ahead of
the others due to the familiarity with the route and of course the hosting
privilege from the beginning to reserve the gold and silver medals. In the end,
the Chinese Lee won the gold medal by 1 hour, 30 minutes and 59 seconds, and Ma
won the silver medal with a difference of 5 minutes and 46 seconds.
For the third place and to win
the bronze medal, a breathtaking and close competition was held between Partoazar
and Alina from Kazakhstan, and at the end of the 4 rounds of intense
competition, the Iranian sprinter girl was able to beat her Kazakh rival, who
was ranked 1st in the competition, with a difference of 11 minutes and 45 seconds
to win the valuable bronze medal and pin her name in history.
Her medal is the first in the
history of Iranian Women’s Cycling in the Asian Games.
