The double Females Rowing team of Iran managed to secure the valuable silver medal of Asian Games as the first medals of Iranian delegation.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The first medal
for Iranian delegation in Asian Games was won by the runner-up in women's
heavyweight Rowing combined of Mahsa Javar and Zeinab Norouzi. In the women's
heavyweight double rowing competition, Iran's boat with the combination of
Mahsa Javar and Zainab Norouzi recorded a time of 7:09:29 seconds in the group
stage among the boats from Kazakhstan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Vietnam and
became the first and advanced to the A final. After reaching the finals,
Iranian rowers won the second title with a record of 7:17:08 and won the first
medal of delegation. The Chinese won the gold medal.
