Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, the President of the National Olympic Committee, along with Dr. Gholamreza Norouzi, the President of the Sports Medicine Federation and the NOC Vice-President paid visit to Shooting Federation and discussed with its members.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The NOC
President stated: “shooting with the gold medal of the Tokyo 2020, along with Wrestling,
Weightlifting, Taekwondo and Athletics, has been added to our medal-winning
disciplines in the Olympics. The Shooting Federation is the first federation
that I visited after my tenure’s start National Olympic Committee. Our focus
should be special on Shooting. This discipline won a historic medal in Tokyo,
which should be the first mission of the technical department of the federation
to preserve”. He further added: "Winning a medal is difficult and
repeating it is even more difficult, but we believe that Iranians have great
capacity and ability. We know that Shooting is difficult and if a point is lost
in a moment, it will be difficult to make up for it”.
NOC President continued to
consider the support to the Shooting Federation as an inherent duty of the
National Olympic Committee and said: “We offer what we can to the federations.
Based on the agreements, we distribute the budget that we get to each season
among the federations. We save money from other sections and help the
federations until the end of the year. We should work for the Paris 2024 from
now and should not leave the work until after the Hangzhou Asian Games”.
