The Iranian male and female Fencers sent to Islamic Solidarity Games won one silver in men’s and 1 bronze in women’s sections.
Iran NOC; Tehran: Azam Bakhti,
the only representative of Iranian women's fencing, won the bronze medal in
women's individual epee. Bakhti, our country's female epee fencer, lost to a
Turkish opponent in the individual semi-finals with a very close result of 12-11,
and jointly with the Kyrgyz fencer, reached to the bronze medal. Ali Pakdaman
won the individual Sabre silver medal by defeating his Turkish opponent. In the
continuation of the Islamic Solidarity Games Konya 2021, in the final stage of
men's individual Sabre, Ali Pakdaman played against Turkish opponent Goldrim
and in a close match ended with a score of 14-15 in favor of the Turkish
opponent. Before this, Pakdaman was able to win in 6 matches out of 7 in the
preliminary stage. He also defeated opponents from Turkey, Kazakhstan and
Mohammad Rahbari from Iran in the elimination stages.
