Ambassador Chang Hua and his accompanying delegation visited the National Sport Olympic Paralympic Museum and met with Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic Committee.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the
beginning of the meeting, Dr. Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic
Committee, while welcoming the Chinese Ambassador to Iran and the accompanying
delegation, stated: “Iranian-Chinese relations are strategic, deep and stable,
and personally when I was in the Ministry of Culture and National Library, I
traveled and got acquainted with the high cultural capacities of this country
and the common points of the two countries, especially that the historical Silk
Road still exists in the path of interest, culture and civilization”.
NOC President added: “China has
always been a worthy host for various sports competitions and without a doubt,
the Chinese Winter Olympics will be more beautiful than before and the Iranian
sports delegation will also participate in it. Also, for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian
Games, a stronger and more numerous delegation than Jakarta Asian will be sent.
We expect the Chinese Embassy and the organizers of the Games to have good
support and coordination with us, for example, good conditions and coordination
for the flight of the Iranian sports to Shanghai and then Hangzhou”.
Then, Chinese Ambassador Dr.
Chang Hua thanked the officials and the National Olympic Committee of Iran for
their support in holding the Chinese Winter Olympics and said: "I know
that Iran is the first sport spot in the region and one of the Asian hubs that
won 3 gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. You won 2 silver and 2 bronze
medals. Congratulations on this success and I wish success to Iranian athletes
in Beijing Winter Olympics and Asian Games in Hangzhou. I know that you have
recently sent a draft to the Chinese Olympic Committee in supporting Beijing
Winter Olympics, and I appreciate your message and that of other Iranian
officials in support of the Games, because I witnessed closely at the National Ski
team competitions, a banner was signed in support of the Games, and even
Iranian children drew paintings on the friendship between the two countries”.
In this meeting, Peyman Fakhri, the
Iranian Chef de Mission in Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, presented a report on the
number of athletes, officials and disciplines to be sent to the Asian Games,
