On the fourth day of the Weightlifting World Youth Championships, talented female weightlifter Ghazaleh Hosseini won the bronze medal by holding 94 kg in Clean & Jerk to be the first female medalist in the world junior category.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The 59 kg
category of the Women's World Junior Championship ended with the presence of
two representatives of our country, which gained the first medal of the team. In
these competitions, Fatemeh Keshavarz and Seyedeh Ghazaleh Hosseini competed
against their opponents, and in the end, Hosseini succeeded in winning the
first medal of the team by the record of 94 kg. Seyedeh Ghazaleh Hosseini
successfully recorded the weights of 65, 71 and 74 kg in Snatch. In the Clean
& Jerk and the first attempt, she lifted 82 kg and failed. In the second
attempt she opted for 91 kg but finally she finished by 94 kg to win the bronze
medal. The representatives of Thailand and Colombia were higher than her,
setting a record of 100 kg.
