The 6th meeting of NOC Athletes Commission was held.
Iran NOC; Tehran: The sixth National Olympic Committee Athletes
Commission meeting was held with the presence of the majority of members.
Afshin Norouzi, the spokesperson of the Athletes Commission held: “At
the beginning of the meeting, Hadi Saei, the Chairman of the Commission,
reviewed the approvals of the previous meetings, especially the issue of
athletes' insurance, which is of special importance for the commission. To
achieve good results, the proposal to prepare a database of all Olympic
athletes by this Commission with the cooperation of the federations was
approved”.
He continued: “Also, in the meeting, it was suggested that a representative
of the Athletes Commission be present during the visits of the NOC officials to
the camps and federations in order to receive the views of the athletes and
review their issues”.
Norouzi pointed out: “Submitting a request to increase the salaries of
Olympic medalists to the Executive Board, considering the fact that this amount
has not changed for several years, was also one of the proposals raised at
meeting of the Athletes Commission and it was decided to provide conditions for
one of the Commission members to be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors
of the Fund for the Support of Champions and Veterans in order to support
athletes as much as possible”.
