Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, the NOC President paid visit to Gymnastics Federation.
Iran NOC; Tehran: the visit which
was done by the company of the Executive Board members took place at the NF’s
building with presence of its President and officials. President of the
Gymnastics Federation, expressing the remarkable growth that this federation
has had in winning medals, training and ability of athletes in recent years, stated:
“For the first time, we will be sent to the Tokyo Olympic qualification
competitions and according to Saeed Reza Kikha’s ranking, he is one of our main
chances to win the Olympic quota. The Qatar World Championships in March is the
only event of the year that will have an Olympic qualification.
Dr. Salehi Amiri, referring to
the background of gymnastics in Iran and the position of this sport in the
past, considered it as one of the basic, medal-winning, popular and attractive disciplines
and highlighted schools as the best way for its growth. The President of the
National Olympic Committee continued: “The philosophy of our presence in the
federations together with the executive board members is to appreciate you for
your efforts in the gymnastics family and to get acquainted with your problems so
as to take steps to solve them. The federation should work for more cohesion and
move with a focus on the main goal to reach the main position of this discipline
in Asia and the world”.
