In order to create a better field and ground for cooperation, Dr. Salehi Amiri, the NOC President had a meeting with top-ranking officials of TV Sports Channel.
Iran NOC; Tehran: President of
National Olympic Committee held a meeting with Motazedi, Head of TV Sports Channel
and his deputies in order to attract maximum support for the Iranian delegation
to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.
Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, President
of the National Olympic Committee discussed how to get maximum support for the
Iranian athletes present at the 2020 Tokyo and also drafting a memorandum to
produce special programs for the disciplines covered by the National Olympic
Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting,
which was held at the National Olympic Committee, Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, appreciated
the positive and purposeful activities of the Radio and Television (IRIB),
especially the Sports Channel in creating vitality and hope in the Iranian
youth and held: “Television, especially the Channel 3 and Sports Channel, have
a very important and influential role in creating mobility and enthusiasm among
the members of society, specifically the young people of our country. But in
order for the efforts to be effective, we need to create programs that, while
creating hope, can also carry cultural and value messages, through identifying
the audience and examining the tastes of the followers”.
He continued: “Bringing the young
generation of Iran out of sluggishness and creating hope can be the most
important goal of the Sports Channel, in this regard, we also consider
ourselves responsible and we will definitely be supporting you. Certainly,
showing the successes of the country's leading sports figures, including prominent
athletes in the Olympic sports, who are to depart to the Tokyo 2020, is one of
these strategies”.
Salehi Amiri noted: “Introducing
non-football federations and disciplines, showing their charms and activities,
showing their successes and victories of each of the athletes that can lead to
national pride should also be another goal of this Channel’s programming”.
Motazedi, Head of TV Sports
Channel, also appreciated the meeting and said: “We consider it our duty to
place the Iranian sports elites in our hearts along with the Iranian sports delegation,
and doubtlessly we will utilize all facilities and power to stand beside the
Iranian sports delegations to Tokyo 2020.
“The general policy of the Islamic
Republic of Iran Broadcasting is to create vitality in the society and the Sports
Channel which belongs to the young generation, uses all its facilities and potential
to achieve this goal. We all wish the success of each member of the Iranian delegation
to various events, including the Tokyo Olympic Games, and to this end we will
be with you and the federations, and will show the best possible efforts to raise
the flag of Islamic Iran” added the TV Sports Channel Head.
In the continuation of this meeting,
the issue of drafting MOU for joint cooperation between the National Olympic
Committee and the Sports Channel to produce support, cultural, sports and
educational programs was discussed and it was decided that the representatives
of the two bodies will review these issues in specialized meetings furthurly.
