Votes went into bags of Qataris during the latest OCA General Assembly in Muscat.
Iran NOC; Tehran: At the 39th General Assembly of the Olympic
Council of Asia (OCA), Qatar was chosen by the majority of members to host the
2030 Asian Games, and Saudi Arabia hosted the 2034 Games.
The meeting began with a video message from Thomas Bach, President of the
International Olympic Committee, greetings of H.E Sheikh Ahmed, President of
the Olympic Council of Asia and welcomed the members after reviewing the agenda
and reports of delegates. Asian countries elected Qatar and Saudi Arabia to
host the 2030 and 2034 Asian Games respectively.
While the voting was done electronically, the system had problems and was
stopped for a long time, until the officials finally voted in the ballot box.
The World Karate and Handball Federations oversaw the vote counts.
