Chaired by the NOC President, Dr. Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, the 68th Meeting of the NOC Executive Board was held.
Iran NOC; Tehran: In
this meeting, which lasted for 4 hours, Dr. Mehdi Alinejad, Deputy Minister of High-Performance
Sports Development, Dr. Mahin Farhadizad, Deputy Minister of Women's Sports
Development and Dr. Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports for All Development
along with members of the Executive Board participated.
First, Dr.
Gharakhanlou, Director of the National Olympic Academy, presented and explained
the 10-year plan of the Academy which was then discussed and commented by the
members. It was decided to address the issue specifically for its final
approval in the next Meeting of the Executive Board.
Dr. Kaykavos Saeidi,
Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee held: “After the
presentation of the 10-year plan by Dr. Gharakhanlou; Dr. Salehi Amiri, the NOC
President, highlighted that the National Olympic Academy is of great importance
and its design should be based on the continuous need assessment of the
federations and therefore the content production must be completed accordingly”.
“The Olympic
federations should each have a sports ID in the academy, and for this purpose
in the academy we should not seek to generate income. NOA facilities should be
provided to the federations for free in order to develop high-performance
sports, so we plan to modernize the academy in terms of hardware and provide
the necessary facilities and equipment as parts of the NOA have undergone
renovation during the past two years” pointed out the Secretary-General.
The NOC
Secretary-General further stated: “Following the meeting of the Executive
Board, it was decided to provide the necessary support for the presence of the
Judo Federation delegation to the CAS”.
Also, in the meeting
of the Executive Board, Mr. Peyman Fakhri, Director of National Teams
Monitoring Center was selected as the Chef de Mission of Iranian delegation to
the Sanya 2020 Asian Beach Games, which will be held in April next year.
